C.D.C. S.p.A. is an international shipping company that organizes and manages the logistics of goods transportation by both sea and air, according to the methods and timelines required by customers, through the use of the best shipping lines, airlines, and third-party carriers able to adapt in order to meet the following needs:

  • customer requirements

  • provision of diversified and customized services, with multimodal shipments

  • customs activities

  • shipment tracking

  • logistical assistance

with the aim of maintaining an operationally lean, functional, and flexible structure.

C.D.C. S.p.A. was established on the basis of extensive experience gained in the field of international shipping and on a cohesive group of dynamic and highly competent collaborators.
C.D.C. S.p.A. extends its activities on the international market.

The company can boast decades of experience in the field of international logistics and freight forwarding, which has allowed it to:

  • Consolidate its organizational and logistical structure

  • Continuously expand its business activities

  • Implement and maintain the Quality Management System UNI EN ISO 9001:2015 & Environmental Management System UNI EN ISO 14001:2015

Specifically, C.D.C. S.p.A. operates within a logistics system that includes two types of shipments:

  • Operational and logistical management of international export shipments (by sea and by air)

  • Operational and logistical management of international import shipments (by sea and by air)

Quality & Environmental Policy

The Quality & Environmental Policy, expressed in this document, must be:

  • a guide, for all personnel at every level, and a constant reference point in all operational choices and decisions, in order to improve C.D.C. S.p.A.’s Quality & Environmental Management System

  • the foundation upon which to define objectives and targets for quality and environment across all activities

In order for this strategy to be achieved, it requires a tool that directs every single corporate activity, from the simplest to the most complex, through the Quality & Environmental Management System.
These tools and their application must be coordinated with C.D.C. S.p.A.’s other policies regarding quality and environment, and must therefore coexist and integrate with each other to achieve maximum efficiency in reaching company goals.

Objectives under the Quality & Environmental Management System are defined during budget formulation and their achievement is continuously monitored over time.
The Quality & Environmental Policy is an integral part of the Organization, Management and Control Model of C.D.C. S.p.A. pursuant to Legislative Decree June 8, 2001, no. 231.

The Head of Management of C.D.C. S.p.A., Mrs. Judy Grossi, acts as the company’s Management Representative and ensures oversight and review of the Quality & Environmental System through Management Meetings held periodically, and in any case never more than one year apart.

Quality Policy

The Quality Policy of C.D.C. S.p.A. refers to the requirements of UNI EN ISO 9001:2015.

It has always been based on the following key principles:

  • Competence in understanding and meeting customer needs

  • Reliability in relation to its logistics processes

  • Professionalism of all C.D.C. S.p.A. staff

  • IT technology for optimal management of all shipping operations and traceability

  • Customer focus in meeting both explicit and implicit needs

In this perspective, Quality Certification under UNI EN ISO 9001:2015 represents both a goal to be achieved and, at the same time, a necessary starting point to manage, monitor, and control company processes in relation to customer requirements and continuous improvement.

Reduction objectives will be quantified and measured in the CDC Quality Indicator Plan.

Environmental Policy

The Environmental Policy of C.D.C. S.p.A. refers to the requirements of UNI EN ISO 14001:2015 and is based on the following key principles:

  • Prevention, through a series of activities measured in terms of meeting quality, safety, hygiene, and environmental performance expectations of the “Interested Parties”

  • Introduction of internal procedures and rules to prevent pollution, reduce waste and resource consumption (materials, office supplies, energy), committing to recovery and recycling

  • Commitment to complying with applicable regulatory and legal requirements

  • Implementation of procedures for evaluating environmental performance, using associated indicators, managing emergency situations that may cause environmental impacts

  • Development of appropriate controls to monitor negative environmental impacts

  • Actions aimed at continuous improvement

  • Energy saving

Since October 1, 2015, this internal policy has been translated into a “paperless” strategy, aimed at reducing paper printing of shipping documents and implementing electronic archiving of shipping practices, with specific objectives:

  • Reduction of paper consumption

  • Reduction of toner consumption

Constant improvement of environmental efficiency is promoted through systematically and objectively assessed programs concerning energy consumption, waste production, and waste management.

Externally, the policy is expressed in efforts to support the ecological transition of maritime and air transport of goods, with specific objectives to reduce the main environmental impacts deriving from greenhouse gases, air pollution, airborne and underwater noise, oil and coal pollution.

Green sustainability has become a global priority across all sectors, especially for companies operating in transport and logistics. Road transport must become increasingly less polluting and more efficient.

CDC Italia has embraced the green philosophy for years, focused on reducing environmental impact and pollution. Through important partnerships and investments, the company has embarked on the path toward decarbonizing freight transport by road through the use of Liquefied Biomethane (Bio-LNG) to power its fleet.

This innovative energy resource is obtained by purifying and liquefying methane produced mainly from livestock industry waste. It represents a giant step forward for the Italian logistics industry in meeting the 2030 environmental targets set by the European Union.

Green Road Transport

By using biogas produced from livestock industry waste and developing new high-tech plants for methane liquefaction, advantages are gained not only environmentally but also economically: transforming industrial biomass waste into a high-value product that almost entirely eliminates emissions produced by combustion. This is an important example of circular and sustainable economy entirely realized in Italy, through a synergistic development plan capable of meeting EU targets for pollutant emission reduction for 2030 within the next two years.

It is a true revolution, able not only to eliminate pollutants but also to remove carbon dioxide emissions from the environment — the so-called “carbon negative” effect — by using bio-derived fuels for freight transport.

CDC Italia has fully embraced the INBLUE philosophy, “blue” like methane and liquefied biomethane, a renewable and clean source with which it intends to power its vehicles, completely eliminating CO₂ emissions. Since 2019, CDC Italia has also used Reefer (2e) container transport generators at controlled nitrogen temperature, a 0-emission, 100% sustainable system.

Photovoltaic Plant

For over 10 years, CDC Italia has operated a large photovoltaic system that has generated and self-consumed about 2 million kWh of clean energy, equivalent to 96,000 trees planted.

The objectives for reducing the main environmental impacts will be quantified and measured in the CDC Environmental Indicator Plan.

Specifically, environmental goals for the 2023–2025 period include:

  • Raising customer awareness to reduce environmental impacts by choosing the “greenest” air/maritime carrier

  • Pursuing pollution prevention and monitoring all sources of pollution

  • Ensuring that staff possess the knowledge and skills required for continuous improvement in environmental and quality performance (internal and external training)

Furthermore, C.D.C. S.p.A. provides training programs for all employees aimed at:

  • understanding significant environmental aspects and impacts associated with their activities

  • raising awareness of their responsibility towards the environment

  • fostering continuous commitment to environmental protection

Training objectives will be quantified and measured in the CDC Training Plan.
